Each division must submit their list of division nominees on the SCACTE–ACTE Region II – ACTE Awards Division Nomination Form.
Nominees are responsible for completing the appropriate application and other required accompanying materials (visit http://www.acteonline.org/awards for complete details) and submit to Kelli Lancaster Awards Chair ([email protected] March 19, 2024.
ACTE/SCACTE Member Awards:
*individual must be a SCACTE dues paying member to be nominated.
SCACTE Teacher of the Year-The purpose of this award is to recognize teachers who are providing outstanding career and technical education programs for youth and/or adults in their respective fields and communities. Recipients of this award must have made significant contributions toward innovative, unique and novel programs that are serving to improve and promote career and technical education.
SCACTE Administrator of the Year- The purpose of this award is to recognize full-time career and technical administrators, program specialist, coordinators, and all other CTE personnel and staff (not employed as teachers or guidance professionals, who have recently providing significant contributions to professional associations and CATE programs for youth and/or adults in their fields, communities and/or states. Recipients of this award must have made significant contributions toward innovative, unique and novel programs; and/or improvement, promotion, research or development of programs CATE.
SCACTE Postsecondary Teacher of the Year- Individuals currently employed as full-time postsecondary CTE teachers/educators are eligible recipients of this award. Recipients of this award must have made significant accomplishments and innovations, contributions to the CTE community, SCACTE and other organizations that exhibit the quality of the candidate for the award.
SCACTE Teacher Educator of the Year- This award recognizes teacher educators who have demonstrated innovation in teacher education, leadership in improving CTE, and commitment to preparing teachers to deliver high quality CTE programs.
SCACTE New Teacher of the Year- This award is meant to encourage new teachers to remain in the profession. Recipients of this award must have made significant contributions toward innovative, unique and novel programs and have shown a professional commitment early in their careers. New teachers can have between 1-5 years of teaching experience at the time of nomination.
SCACTE Counseling and Career Development-The purpose of this award is to recognize school counselors and career development professionals who are currently making significant contributions in career and technical education programs in their communities and/or states. Recipients of this award must have made significant contributions to advocate, educate and communicate the value of CTE as a viable career option to a variety of audiences, including students and adults. They must also demonstrate exemplary efforts in helping students and/or adults evaluate their abilities, interests and talents that encourage them to develop academic and career goals aligned with career and technical education.
SCACTE Carl Perkins Community Service-The purpose of this award is to recognize teachers with significant accomplishments
SCACTE Lifetime Achievement -This award recognizes CTE professionals for their leadership on behalf of ACTE, their innovations in CTE and their contributions to the field over an extended period of time. ACTE also inducted all five Lifetime Achievement national finalists into the ACTE Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame honors the leadership of CTE professionals who have made enduring contributions to CTE throughout their career.

The Business-Education Partnership Award- ACTE’s Business-Education Partnership Awards were created for business and education leaders who understand that economic livelihood is linked to the success of career and technical education (CTE) programs. Businesses and CTE programs across the country have already created successful partnerships that support student achievement, economic and community development, quality of life and more. ACTE is dedicated to supporting and recognizing best practices in CTE business-education partnerships.
ACTE Champion for CTE Award- ACTE’s Champion for CTE Awards were created to recognize education leaders, business and industry executives, celebrities and thought leaders who support and champion CTE programs as a vital part of developing a prepared, adaptable and competitive workforce. The words and actions of a few dedicated and influential individuals have the power to further best practices, foster supportive policies, and shape a more positive public opinion of CTE. These awards showcase outstanding champions-from local leaders to national figureheads-who have leveraged their influence to expand, improve, and promote CTE.

**Please note: State winners must be current ACTE members in order to be recognized at and compete in the regional awards program. If a state winner does not meet the membership requirements, set by ACTE, the state winner will be recognized only at the state level.
