The Goose Creek SkillsUSA Float was awarded Most Original and Most Creative  in the Hanahan Parade this past Saturday. There are no awards in the Downtown Charleston Parade, but this year the float was moved up to slot 46 in the Downtown Parade...Last year they were in a slot 100+.    It is more prestigious to be at the front of the parade and they are moving up in this world!

The first two pictures show the float being built and some of the students.   Popeye has his own "netbag" full of toys.  Kerry Daugherty, one of GCH's assistant principals, took the picture of his two sons with the float with Popeye (Don Blair, Mechatronics Instructor) during the parade. The float and the costumes were nothing less than incredible.

The float was the talk of the parade!

"Popeye" (Don Blair, Mechatronics teacher at Goose Creek High School) takes the helm of his shrimpboat - his net full of toys for the children..

The students get ready to head for the parade!

Popeye takes a photo op with two children at the parade site.
